This short traces the resilient life of Michelle, a quiet light shining in the midst of a fragile place. She sang and played guitar at the medical center where she lived. I visited her over three years, bringing paints—she loved to paint—and a guitar. Though she had lived a full life, she had no photographs of herself or others. In 2019, I made a short film

with her, creating a moving album for her to keep.
